2014 1 Graphic Designer of the Year
Tomáš Celizna, Adam Macháček a Radim Peško
concept and visual style for the 26th Brno International Biennial of Graphic Design
"All three of us studied in various countries and nowadays we teach for this reason, the theme of education is close to our hearts. We tried to map out the education system and to descarch various schools and approaches. With the help of exhibitions, lectures and accompanying programmes, we wanted to, in collaboration with visitors, think about ways graphic design is taught, what methods are available and what approaches individual teachers and schools are adopting. By doing so, we've tried to reflect the current state of graphic design."
At last year's remarkable Biennial, which focused on the education and school system for the first time in its history, in a simple yet very engaging and contemporary way, the visual concept of the festival (website, exhibitions and print information) reached new heights. The Biennial presented an energetic, diverse and international mixture of work with a corresponding visual composition and conceptual unity.
