The efforts of the Czech company Ravak to shift its production to a new level have been impossible to overlook during recent years. Accordingly, its current collection of sanitary products focuses on cooperating with leading designers, which gives the presented portfolio not only aesthetics corresponding with contemporary global parameters, but also the expected functionality and quality. Naturally, this also goes hand in hand with the producer's brilliantly mastered craftsmanship and technological know-how, based on many years of experience. An example reflecting this trend is the series of table-top washbasins, Moon, designed for Ravak by Kryštof Nosál. The collection, which won Ravak a nomination of the Design Academy of the Czech Republic for the title Producer of the Year, was presented to the wider public at the autumn Designblok. It works with a purist approach, and is derived from the basic geometric shape of a circle. Nosál, as the designer, elaborated the simplicity into several various forms, which optically evoke the individual phases of the Moon. The varied shapes depart from functional aspects and simultaneously provide a range of possibilities of the application for users.
