Kryštof Nosál definitely is not an unknown figure on the Czech design scene. He launched his career as a product designer by winning a competition for young designers, organized by the Electrolux company. His most recent work is, however, usually linked with the production of the Ravak company, for which studio Nosal Design has already been working for several years. A good example of this cooperation is the series 10°, which earned the studio the Red Dot Design Award and the iF Design Award. Kryštof Nosál was nominated for the title Designer of the Year of the Czech Grand Design awards for his collection of washbasins, entitled Moon and presented by Ravak as a topical innovation in the framework of Designblok in late 2016. This minimalistically interpreted series, and especially its particular modifications, entail the process of creation itself and its evolution. Kryštof Nosál, in his own words, first employed the technology of cast marble to create a table-top washbasin departing from the basic geometrical shape of a circle, which subsequently resulted in an oval one. Re-connecting the two shapes then led to yet another variant, which provides users with a table-top storage space in the characteristic shape of a half-moon.
