A warm relationship with original local traditions, enriched with the most topical trends in the field - such is the philosophy of the two young textile designers, Linda Kaplanová and Klára Spišková. The two studied together in the Studio of Textile Work at the Prague Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design, and decided to work together after graduating. They established the Geometr studio and produce designs, prints and woven textile fabrics. Their colorful runners, displaying a seemingly spontaneous spill of the values of red, violet or blue, represent an original contribution to Czech textile design. The essential aspect of their work is developing on historical methods. This is also why they turn to places closely linked with textile industry and work in traditional weaving mills. Returning to places where the best Bohemian and Czech fabrics were made in the past, allows Geometr to think within the box of regional specificity. Supported by a modern approach to colors and patterns, they have reached the point in their collection when they present the most interesting that can be currently spotted in the given field. Besides their authorial products, they were also behind the last year's prints for fabrics employed by the fashion designer Tereza Ujevičová in her successful collection of clothing.

With their Geometr brand, Linda Kaplanová and Klára Spišková clearly exemplify that the fame of Czech textiles remain firmly rooted in the local DNA. Their responsible and precise approach suggests that there is a new generation of excellent textile designers emerging.
