The Spaghetti collection, created by the duo of designers Eduard Hermann and Matěj Coufal, is not only based on the technology of bent tubes, but also on the pragmatic practicality of the design itself. The Design Academy of the Czech Republic and subsequently also the expert jury mainly appreciated the simplicity arriving from a really minimalistic morphology. The series, presented at Designblok, includes two objects or, respectively, racks boasting very significant character which will seize attention in every space. The designers explain their approach as follows: "The bending is not random. We based it on the way a person undresses." The first variant is a rack with a self-standing circular base of rather sculptural quality. The second, a suspension variant on the contrary evokes the feeling of levitation and lightness. The nomination for the title Designer of the Year 2017 is definitely in no way accidental – for in 2016, Eduard Hermann and Matěj Coufal were acknowledged with the Czech Grand Design title Discovery of the Year.
