Do you remember playing Scattegories..., when the CH character suddenly popped up and you better skipped your turn? Well, you don't have to anymore. You already know!
It is equally right not to skip the illustrated pages in the book A Little Boy Doll, a Pit, a Plum and a Little Boy Doll Again, where Chrudoš (exactly, the "CH" name!) Valoušek accompanied the text written by Vojtěch Mašek by his brilliant illustrations. The sharp linocut lines are augmented by even sharper color palette; from the beginning, it looks like an uneven fight where one component wins over the other while just the next page displays the contrary. The fight remains undecided to the very end, similarly as in the case of the Czech Grand Design awards, although the winner takes it all, right?
The infinitely infinite imagination has been given hard time here - you wait when it stops, and it does not at all; sometimes you even beg for the end, but when it comes, you do not even realize it and start browsing through the book again. And this is how it's gonna be to the end, until you get hungry and someone shouts Stop! When this happens, you can try another play and perhaps win the next year. Buy a pack of Smarties, assort them according to colors and start picking at them. There will be three last left, and these are the colors of the next book. How simple. But beware, what if Chrudoš has started sucking them?
