Even though Pavel Brejcha could easily rest on his laurels as a very successful fashion designer with a resume ranging from footwear to accessories and clothes, and from teaching to creative consultations for fashion chain stores and his own designs, he has continued to search, change and evolve. His precision and passion are ubiquitous in his cuts and changes to traditional proportions and the shapes of individual components, showing an almost childish optimism. But he always produces a realistic and balanced set of clothes, and this complex and elaborate collection with its small, yet essential trace of something extra is no different. In his S/S 2016 Urban Mermaid collection nominated for the Czech Grand Design Award, that "something extra" is borne out in his simple romantic examination of space around the body. Think of a female surfer encountering a Greek goddess at a Chania bus station...or an urban fairy in a midnight dress. These are the types of clothes that blow your mind, forming associations before you even have time to think.
