"Every jewel should have a specific meaning for its user. Like an amulet, it should provide exactly what the user needs in the given moment," says Janja Prokić, who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, where she specialized in painting, and currently studies at the Academy of Art, Design, and Architecture in the Metal – K.O.V. studio. In the Super Powers collection, she transcends the line between jewelry and reality. Rings and necklaces from the collection endow the users with supernatural powers of the selected symbols, i.e. a fox, a beaver, a bear, a falcon, and a horse. The collection is derived from animal symbolism in various cultures and shamanism; the jewelry serves as a tool for insight into oneself. The purely decorative Flowers collection is a puzzle – flowers consisting of three parts can be assembled into six variants of shapes. "Its meaning is simply decorative," says Prokić. "I love adorning myself, so I enjoy making jewelry."
