With her S/S 2016 collection, Denisa Nová and her brand DNB return to the pure cuts and colours typical of her fashion designs, even though she may seem to have relinquished them in her previous collections. Seen from a distance, the cuts and colours of the dresses blend with the body, making it almost appear nude. But as soon as the wearer comes close, the varied and sophisticated cuts are immediately recognisable, a typical feature of Nová's designs. Her silk dresses are organically complemented with precisely elaborated dark outer garments with colour linings. A no less important feature of the collection is motion, where the ingenious cuts of individual models become fully apparent when the body is in permanent movement. The S/S 2016 collection definitely ranks among Nová's most distinctive, most original and best collections so far. Nová has, with this unequivocal, yet unostentatious gesture, confirmed what most of us already know – that she is one of the leading Czech fashion designers. Indeed this collection rivals those of the most respected fashion designers anywhere in the world thanks to its clear vision and quality workmanship. Pure cuts and colours are often difficult to pull off, but where many designers have failed, Denisa Nová and DNB brilliantly succeed.
