Even though Nastassia Aleinikava and Kateřina Jirsová both graduated from the K.O.V. (Concept - Object - Meaning) Studio at AAAD and focus on contemporary jewellery, they take very different approaches to their work. Nastassia designs elaborate jewellery inspired by nature and is known for her interest in traditional crafts and methods and attention to intricate details. And in 2015 she designed minimalist eyewear frames for Collection #1. Kateřina, who had studied at the Conceptual Studio led by Miloš Šejn at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague before enrolling in AAAD, straddles the line between jewellery and art in her work. Her jewellery emphasises a clear concept and desire to explore the limits of contemporary jewellery. The two designers decided to co-design the Lost & Found collection even though their individual work appears different at first glance. After exchanging their half-completed products, each of them completed the other's jewellery pieces. The result is a very impressive collection featuring an enriching interplay that highlights the strengths of both jewellery designers. Their collaboration led them to design jewellery that reflects their relationship and mutual influence. However, the jewellery pieces are not mere experiments and stand on their own as individual pieces.
